Os vestidos que eu lhes emprestei já não são meus
A man in a white dress as in an altar, puts on the shoes a woman threw at him and she is now undressing layers of dresses. Thus, begins an infernal dance where one hugs, rubs in bodies heads other heads, dresses are torn, dressed and undressed, where mannequins and a sofa roll around, pairs are instantaneous, glue themselves to the walls, show their bodies, there are exhibitionists (showing their genitalia), women who stalk, insinuate and contort; almost always at an eager pace. Portable skin that illustrates and hides… one of the recurring actions in some of Isabel Barros’s works is the dressing and undressing that in its play transforms the garments in a kind of portable skin that illustrates and hides. Besides this, the choreographer by playing with the destruction (not opposition) of the functionality and non-functionality of its garments, creates an unstable dynamics of loss and gain of significance of the act itself (dressing/undressing).
