Agora
Isabel Barros presents a performance for which she summons two great friends and partners of artistic life: Regina Guimarães, who asked her to write an original text, and Vítor Rua, who invited her to improvise and accompany the performance of the Cooperativa Árvore gallery.
He was interested in talking about the landscape where he lives, the landscape itself. The text speaks of a sea from within. In improvisation, with Vítor Rua, Isabel Barros gave voice to the listening to this strange frontier, incorporating the text specifically tailored to a unique and unrepeatable moment: “Agora“. The music suspends in a cinema way a landscape of thoughts that are sought and confronted within a room coldly marked by a white wall, which Isabel runs slowly and linearly, from one end of the gallery to the other. As it travels through the empty space, it releases the pages of the text in order to jump in free flight: the movement of the dance ultimately happens, being exclusively inhabited by the space of the music. Together, Isabel Barros and Vítor Rua are transported in a kind of flying carpet, which began as a distant object, to become a space of experience and end up becoming a misshapen port of shelter, where one dreams. The performance, composed of dance, music and literature, translated into an escape to the space where we finally hide. Imbued with a great biographical load, it was mostly supported on a great complicity between art and life.
