In Baudelaire’s sonnet “Correspondences” – magnificent manifest and counter-manifest of the symbolist art – the poet proposes a new design of forest where, lost and found as in fairy tales, man collects the echoes with which he constructs language and machines. It is our role to question the echoes: are they reflection of the “grim and profound unit” or, on the contrary, is it resonance of the great gaps, projections of a primitive imbalance to which only the gesture can give back continuity, harmony perhaps. And as machines always tell us about the principles of language; it is our intention with this “gesture” to state the forest and the path at the same time, the implosion and expansion of all signs.
